In 1971, it was later redesigned and transformed by the renowned English theatre designer, Oliver Messel. With Oliver Messels reputation and tasteful decoration, Cockade House is now one of the most exclusive properties on the island. Messel reconfigured the interior of the house, raised the height of the ceilings, added the verandahs, redid the faade and incorporated a lovely swimming pool.
