Historical references on the residence and the village: Around 1850, an ancestor of the current owner, the son of a wealthy Turin merchant specializing in clothing, had his father secretly build a villa in Villa Guardia. Later, he moved there and started a successful trade in oil and olives with Piedmont. About 200 meters from the villa stands the Sanctuary, today dedicated to the Madonna della Neve, whose celebrations take place on August 5, and which serves as the central church of the town.
