At the beginning of the 20th century, it returned to the hands of the Marquis of Saldanha family, who decided to donate part of the farm to the Patriarchate of Lisbon and sell the 'Casa Italiana' to an English family, who lived there until 1987, the year in which the current owner acquired it and began a 2-year restoration project. It was restored to modernize and provide comfort, without forgetting its original features and history, as evidenced by the Italian frescoes.
